Automatic Horizontal flow wrap Packing machine
Automatic Horizontal flow wrap Packing machine
A flow wrap machine, is an automated packaging system that continuously wraps individual products in flexible film. It creates a tight, pillow-shaped package with three seals (one longitudinal and two end seals) to preserve freshness and ensure hygiene.
How It Works
The wrapping process is highly automated and follows a continuous motion:
- Product Feeding: Items are placed on an infeed conveyor belt and travel in uniform spacing toward the forming area.
- Film Shaping: A continuous roll of heat-sealable film (like BOPP, PET, or paper) is pulled from a reel and folded into a tubular shape around the product.
- Sealing: The machine creates a longitudinal (fin) seal along the bottom or top of the product, followed by heated end seals.
- Cutting: A rotating cutting knife seals and cuts the adjoining wrapped products into individual packages.
Key Components
- Infeed Conveyor: Aligns the products.
- Forming Box/Shoulder: Shapes the flat film into a tube.
- Sealing Jaws: Applies heat and pressure to seal the packaging ends.
- Cutting Head: Cuts the continuous film into individual, uniform packages.
Common Applications
Flow wrapping is the industry standard for both food and non-food items:
- Food & Bakery: Candy, chocolate bars, biscuits, protein bars, and fresh produce.
- Pharmaceuticals & Cosmetics: Soaps, wet wipes, and medical devices.
- Retail Items: Hardware parts, sponges, and other household goods.
Benefits
- High-Speed Output: Capable of packaging anywhere from 50 to hundreds of products per minute.
- Product Protection: Shields products from moisture, dust, and contamination, prolonging shelf life.
- Versatility: Easily adjustable to accommodate varying product shapes and sizes.
