Multi-Head Weigh Filler
Multi-head weigher is an automated weighing machine used to precisely measure and dispense a target weight of products for packaging.
A multihead weighing system can be mounted on top of a collar type packing machine or pick fill seal machine using a working platform.
Multihead weigher works by distributing bulk product into multiple weigh hoppers, each with a load cell that measures its weight. A computer then calculates the combination of hoppers that is nearest to the target weight, releasing the products simultaneously into a packaging machine. These machines are fast, accurate, and used across various industries for products like snacks, frozen foods, hardware, and more.
Working of a multi-head weigh filler system
- Product Infeed: Bulk or loose products are fed into the weigher, typically through a top cone or infeed funnel.
- Product Dispersion: The product is distributed evenly among multiple individual feed hoppers or buckets that are positioned around the machine’s perimeter.
- Weighing: Each weigh hopper has a load cell that continuously measures the weight of the product inside it.
- Combination Calculation: A computerized system analyzes the weights in each hopper and calculates various combinations to find the one that most closely matches the programmed target weight.
- Product Release: Once the optimal combination is determined, the system simultaneously opens the gates of the selected hoppers, allowing the products to drop into a packaging machine or conveyor.
